Paintwork Consultation
Where possible the aim is to meet all clients and inspect the vehicle to discuss what is and isn’t achievable before a date is agreed on. A test panel can be undertaken to gain a better estimate of the time required for the whole job if required although this may incur a small surcharge.
Time Estimates
For protection details where next to none or minimal machine polishing is undertaken, estimates are normally more accurate. Where correction work is required, estimates can be less accurate depending on how various paints react to the process. Where parts of a vehicle have been resprayed, this can cause additional issues. Most cars will require a medium and fine polishing stage, with some vehicles with severe paint defect requiring a stronger compound stage.
How much can be removed
In most cases of defect removal it is the initial state that the paintwork is in that will determine the final result. The other aspect is time spent. Normally, extra time yields extra results. Where the paintwork is in a particularly bad condition, extra time can be spent on a lesser degree of correction. Advice will be given as to the best route but the final decision comes down to the client.
