FAQ's
What is required for the detail?
At present water and power are required. Due to the time spent on some details, having a generator continuosly running all the time, is not good for the enviroment. While it is running and not being used, inbetween processes that require power, it is wasting fuel for no reason, even at idle. There is also the noise aspect. Even silent generators emit noise and there is no desire to upset neighbours or our clients if they work from home. A hosepipe is not a necessity as work is carried out from buckets which the pressure washer can draw from, so any clean water supply will be fine.
What weather can you work in?
An ideal day would be dry and mild with plenty of cloud cover but days like this are few and far between. Many clients have an undercover area, be it a garage or even a workshop. As long as the car has plenty of space around it to work then it will be fine. Even if the area is small, it can be used to partially cover the vehicle if it’s showery weather. As long as the weather isn’t too windy a 6x3m marquee will be used, heated if necessary. This is currently in the pipeline but should be with us soon.
How long does it last?
This all comes down to the after care, how it is washed and dried. All defects are removed permanently and no fillers are applied, unless the paint is so thin that it is too risky to remove the defects. Poor after care can cause new defects but advice is given on how best to prolong the finish and discounted maintenance programs are also available if you wish to have the car looked after on a regular basis.
