Services

Ethos:
  • Affection to Detail offers a range of services to suit the need of every vehicle and client. The company motto is "Together Forever" and the aim is to provide the very best care for any vehicle, offering maintenance programmes to ensure your vehicle looks great all the time. The company doesn’t believe in a quick one off clean! Affection to Detail believes in long term commitments, no matter how your vehicle returns each time.

For paint correction work, it is preferred to see the vehicle before commencing work. Recommendations will be made on the amount of work the vehicle needs, including any work in the interior and engine bay. There is a small surcharge for this work which is deducted off the final invoice. To view the range of services available please click on the links below.

To provide the very best services to clients, products are continually updated where needed to ensure the best possible finish. If you are not happy with the finish, scent or longetivity of any product or technique used, tell us and they will be changed until you are 100% satisfied.

Pricing:
  • Affection to Detail doesn’t believe in totally fixed prices. The belief is that vehicles that have led a better life should cost less to be put right. By pricing by the hour, vehicles that take less time get charged less. It’s as simple as that. This allows flexibility in meeting clients needs because not everyone wants the same work carried out and some clients may only want certain parts of their car done for whatever reason. A time estimate is always given but clients must understand that there are sometimes unforeseen circumstances that may prolong any given job.

Please be aware that some companies that operate a fixed price scheme which show low priced correction work, also require one of their full exterior details/valets to be carried out as well and if the interior needs work, this would be an added extra. Some companies also charge less, simply because their work is of a lower standard. Please take this into consideration when you receive a quote from any company.

NOTE: Please be aware that the prices below also reflect the quality of both the work and products that are used. Only tried and tested products go near any vehicle that Affection to Detail work on. The company steers away from cheap, harsh bulk chemicals, ensuring that the vehicle is treated in the best possible way. When getting quotes from other companies it may be wise to find out exactly what products they use. For more information on what products are used please contact the company.

When having any work undertaken, do not choose simply by price, but by the finished result!

Protection details will take approximately 6-8hrs at a cost of around £150-£200.

Correction details will take from 8hrs with the average at 12hrs with a cost around £350 dependant on work required. A base price is normally provided which covers one stage correction on each panel. Work after this is charged by the hour.

Work is charged hourly at the following rates:

£35 for paint correction and leather care.

    £30 for all other work.

Note: Prices are subject to change without notice.

Interior Detail:

Many interiors are often neglected in favour of keeping the exterior of the vehicle looking great, because that is what everyone will see. But what about the driver, what about your experience? The same amount of care can be lavished on the interior, ensuring the glass is crystal clear, the leather supple, carpets clean and a fresh smell all round. The process normally involves the following:

    • Brush and wipe interior to remove loose dirt and dust.

Correction Detail:
  • Over 95% of vehicles fall into the category of needing a full correction detail. Once carried out, this level of work will rarely need to be carried out to such an extent again as long as the finish is maintained. It consists briefly of the following stages:

    • Paint depth readings taken and recorded. Allow high and low spots to be recorded along with finding any repair work that may need special attention.
    • Citrus degreaser applied to whole vehicle.
    • Glue and tar remover applied locally where required.
    • Wheels, tyres, arches and door shuts pre soaked.

    • All glass surfaces cleaned.

    Note:

The level of wheel and arch cleansing is dependant on access. Some clients request wheels to be removed to allow full treatment of complex designs and multiple layers of sealant/wax to be applied to add protection, including unseen internal surfaces, which also aids future cleaning.

In extreme circumstances wet sanding may be required to remove paint defects. Please see here for further information.

New Vehicles:

Many new cars aren’t as new as you may wish they were. Defects that occur along the production line are sometimes quickly sorted without due care and removal of the transportation films, often covered in dirt due to sitting around can cause major defects if not removed carefully. Dealers will sometimes then give the vehicle a quick wash over with devastating results. There is the option of having the vehicle corrected before or after collection depending on your requirements and the co-operation of the dealer. Each case is individual so please contact for further information.

Maintenance Programmes:

Once the vehicle has been given a new lease of life via one of the protection or correction details, many clients want it to look good all the time, but don’t always have the time to do this. Every maintenance package is bespoke, dependant primarily on car usage, which dictates how often it will need cleaning. This could be bi-annually down to weekly due to daily usage. The maintenance programmes are built up of periodic cleansing with deep cleansing at set intervals to allow further sealant and wax top ups. The higher the usage and therefore more visits, the greater the discount.
